The Dragons are now entering the second half of their season as they prepare for region competition. This week they will head to Cedartown, a team that is making its return to the region after reclassification. Cedartown enters the game with a 2-2 record, but has played one of the toughest non-region schedules of anyone in the region. Entering region play this week, Northwest Whitfield is 4-0 on the season, Central Carrollton is 3-1, Heritage is currently sitting at 3-2, Pickens is at 2-3, and Ridgeland is 0-5. Each team starts with a clean slate this Friday as they enter the region schedule.

Up to this point, the Dragons are averaging 10 points per game on offense. Jarod Whitmore is leading the way on the ground with 547 yards and four touchdowns. Mykel Hand has 20 receptions on the season for 389 yards. Devin Hand and Whitmore both have over 100 yards receiving. Sam Streicher has been behind center Sam Stout all season and has thrown for 741 yards through five games.

On defense for the Dragons, Sophomore Kadyn Hampton is leading all tacklers with 61 tackles. Sy Chadwick and Conor Browning are both tied with four tackles for loss. The defense has also pitched one shutout in the first five games.

The Dragons will be in action on the road this Friday as they kickoff in Cedartown at 7:30.
