Early voting underway in primary election


        Early voting in the primary runoff will continue this week and next week, with election day Tuesday, Aug. 11. 

Early voting will be held at the Pickens County Elections Office Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Monday, Aug. 3 through Friday, Aug. 7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday voting will be August 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pickens Elections Supervisor said at press time Tuesday, July 28th, 669 people had cast early voting ballots. Polls will be open election day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Local runoffs are for a school board post (Donna Enis, incumbent, and Tommy Gartrell); and tax commissioner (Daniel Reeves and Amy Gibson). Congressional races are on the ballots. See sample ballot in Pickens Progress eedition from last week. The ballot will be printed again next week.
