The Pickens County Tax Commissioner and Staff

We are currently preparing for a new statewide motor vehicle system known as DRIVES, and the system upgrade may impact your renewal process.

The Pickens County Tax Commissioner’s office will be closed on Monday, April 1st and Tuesday, April 2nd for training on the new system.

Mobile home bills are due on April 1st but due to our office being closed penalties/interest will not be added until April 3rd.

Also, we will not be processing tags and titles after closing on Thursday, May 23rd. Renewals and title work received in the office after the 23rd will be processed the following week.

Our office will be closed Friday, May 24th for the state to transition the system from GRATIS to DRIVES, closed on Monday, May 27th for Memorial Day, and closed to the public Tuesday, May 28th to afford our staff the opportunity to work in the new system to ensure it is functioning effectively before reopening to the public on Wednesday, May 29th.

This will affect all motor vehicle transactions in all 159 counties. Please be patient with us as we transition into this new system.

If your birthday falls during these days of closing and/or transitioning, we encourage you to renew/register on or before May 23rd.  You may also visit our website at www.pickenscountytaxga.com for renewals and cancellations.

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding of delays and longer lines than normal.
