Youth Art on display March 22 - March 24 for Youth Art Month


 Creative works from Pickens County art students in grades K through 12 will be on display at the Southern  Appalachian Folk School, 255 Chambers Street, Jasper, GA 30143. This multi­ media exhibit, sponsored by Pickens Arts & Cultural Alliance (PACA) and Southern Appalachian Folk School, highlights Youth Art Month, a national celebration sponsored by the Council for Art Education.  The annual celebration, which typically takes place in March, emphasizes the value of art education for all children and encourages support for quality art programs in Georgia schools.


The Youth Art Month Exhibit will be on display and open to the public weekdays, Thursday, March 22nd and Friday, March 23rd. from l1 a.m. till 7p.m. and Saturday, March 24th from lO a.m. till 3p.m. with a reception from noon till 3 p.m. The public is invited and admission is free.

      Students from Jasper Elementary, Hill City Elementary, Harmony Elementary, Pickens County Middle, Jasper Middle, Pickens High School & Mountain Laurel Academy. These programs are under our county's  wonderful art teachers- Shannon Finley, Jacqueline Tipton, Anna Pickett, Dana Stone, Allison Naples, Nikki Towery & Jeff Hites are participating in this year's Youth Art Month exhibit.
