If you missed Santa in Talking Rock, look for him in Ball Ground Friday and in Jasper on Saturday and at businesses around the area. See Christmas event information throughout this edition.

With absolutely perfect weather, the town of Talking Rock held its annual Christmas tree lighting Saturday. The tree site and festivity area was moved in front of the caboose where it was several years ago.
The last two years the town went with a living tree planted beside the old schoolhouse. Both of those trees died and with that in mind, the council decided to move it back to the old location and use a cut tree.
Santa arrived at 3 p.m. The council had provided craft kits for the youngsters to make ornaments while waiting to see Santa. As it turned out, there was no waiting to see Santa. The families came in a staggered groups. The attendance was down from past years – maybe due to some big football games? Those that came enjoyed their time with Santa and having their pictures taken. The small town always does a great job with the yearly tree lighting kickoff to the holidays and this year was no exception.
The tree was lit at 6 p.m. sharp. Hopefully, everyone gets what they asked Santa for and next year more people will come.
