Jean Ray

May 14, 1951 - March 9, 2018

 

Jean Elliott "Ms. Jean" Ray, age 66, of Jasper, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at North Fulton Hospital.  Ms. Jean taught school in the Pickens County School System for over 30 years.  

Survivors include her  husband, Ronnie Ray; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda & Scott Pope of Jasper, Stephanie Ray of Jasper, Amanda & Steve Prather of Canton;  grandchildren, Jordan Prather of New Zealand,  Jacob Prather of Canton,  Hannah Keeter of Pickens County; brother and sister-in-law, David George "Buddy" and Laura Elliott of LaGrange;  niece, Jessica Mitchell; nephew, Brett Elliott of Seoul, South Korea; great-nieces, Isabella Mitchell and Savannah Mitchell.  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 12th, 2018 at the Jasper United Methodist Church with Rev. Max Caylor and Rev. Kathy Howard officiating.   Mrs. Ray will be cremated following the service.  

In lieu of flowers make donations to Tate United Methodist Church Missions Fund. 

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.  

 

Hilda Satterfield

October 16, 1938 - March 09, 2018

 

Mrs. Juanita Hilda Satterfield, 79, of Canton passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at her residence. 

Mrs. Satterfield is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jason & Jennifer Satterfield of Jasper; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie & Keith Hallman of Jasper and Carol & Joe Duckett of Ball Ground; grandchildren, Mathew Scott, Brian Scott, Chris McCoy, Ashley Clark, Collin Satterfield and Kennedy Satterfield; four great-grandchildren.

Hilda is preceded in death by her husband, William "Duck" Satterfield.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Free Hope Church. Rev. Randy Weaver and Rev. Larry Holden officiating. 

Pallbearers: Chris McCoy, Matthew Scott, Brian Scott, Collin Satterfield, David Carver, Jimmy Phenix, Jimmy Fann and Keith Holmes. 

Interment was held at Macedonia Memorial Park, Canton following the funeral services.

Barbara Goss

May 2, 1942 - March 6, 2018

 

Barbara Ann Goss,  75, of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.  

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Shawn Goss and Tammy Ray, Zachary and Stephanie Goss;  sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Wayne Keith; grandchildren, Cody Goss, Jazmine and Chase McCowan, Danielle Goss, Zachary Goss; great-grandchildren, Peyton McCowan, Piper McCowan. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Goss; parents, Bob and Elizabeth Humphery; brothers, Kenneth Kincaid, Doug Humphery; and sister, Debra Sims.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Friendship Baptist Church with Reverend R. S. Thomas officiating. Interment followed the service in Norton Cemetery.

Willie Collett

January 20, 1945 - March 05, 2018

 

Mr. Willie Don Collett,  73, of Jasper passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at his residence. 

Mr. Collett is survived by his wife, Carol Collett of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Deb Collett of Jasper; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clayton & Edna Collett of Stewart, Fl. and Coy & Gracie Collett of Tate; sisters and brothers-in-law: Louise & Charles Horton of Lawrenceville and Doris & Lamar Childres of Jasper; sister, Mary Francis Collett; grandchildren, Josh Collett and Dustin Collett; three great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews.

Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew & Monnie Collett; brothers, Harrison, Herb, Buck and Ernie Collett; sister, Christine Yarbarough.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Cagle Funeral Home Chapel. 

Rev. Bruce Weeks and Rev. Charles Horton officiated. 

Pallbearers: Tommy George, Dusty Collett, Josh Collett, Rodney Smith, Chuck Horton, Mike Collett and James Spence. 

Interment was held at Lake Forest Memorial Park. Local Chapter 47 DAV in charge of military rights. 

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Cagle Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. 

Cagle Funeral Home is honored to serve the Collett family.

 

 

Pat Neville

February 16, 1939 - March 9, 2018

 

Patsy Jo "Pat" Neville,  79, of Jasper, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at her home.  

Pat was born February 16, 1939 in Hazard, Kentucky to Irvin and Claudia Hall. She taught in the Pickens County School System for over 30 years.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Neville; daughter and son-in-law, Suzie and Jim Fowler; grandchildren, Shelbi Fowler and Cameron Fowler; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2018  at Jasper United Methodist Church  with Rev. Greg Meadows officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Jasper United Methodist Church specifically the children's area.

Don Dease Sr.

January 4, 1960 – March 8, 2018

 

Mr. Don Edward Dease Sr., 58, of Jasper, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at his home.  He was born January 4, 1960 to Luke and Thelma Dease in Kershaw County, South Carolina.

Don is survived by his son, Don Edward Dease Jr. of Mankato, Minnesota; daughter and son-in-law, Natalie Dease Coker and Ty Coker of Jasper; grandchildren, Ashaela Buchanan of Jasper, Gavin Moss of Jasper, Flynn Jamison Dease of Mankato, Minnesota; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Dianne Dease of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Luke and Shirley Dease Jr. of Kershaw, South Carolina; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and David Wright of Kershaw, South Carolina, Pamela and Thomas Plyler of Jefferson, South Carolina, Polly and Michael Milazzo of Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina, Brenda and Edward Teems of Talking Rock, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Luke and Thelma Dease; sister, Peggy Dease; and brother, Billy Dease.

The funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2018 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Doug Taylor and Dwight Henderson officiating.  Following the service, Don was cremated under the care of Roper Funeral Home. 

The family accepted flowers or you may make donations to Toys for Tots.
