Claudine Hyde

February 1, 1926 – December 1, 2017


Mrs. Claudine Hyde, 91, of Jasper, passed away Friday, December 01, 2017 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.   She was born February 1, 1926 to Admiral Dewey Carney and Ina Cantrell Carney in Pickens County.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Hyde.

Mrs. Hyde is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, J.I. and Sue Hyde of Talking Rock; granddaughter, Sherri and Corey Vaden of Woodstock; great-grandchildren, Sam and Kristin Mullinax of Jasper, Codey Long of Talking Rock; great-great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Mullinax, Alexander Mullinax; sisters, Ethelene Dorton of Canton, Betty Hodges of Canton, and Marell Wallace of Canton.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2017 at Salem Baptist Church in Jasper with Reverend Buck Parker, Reverend Gene Childers, Reverend Adam Parker, and Reverend Allen Caylor officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory.

Beaulah Marsh 

November 29, 1925 - November 30, 2017


Mrs. Beulah Fitz Marsh, 92, of Jasper passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Grandview Nursing Center.

Mrs. Marsh is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Debbie Marsh of Cumming; daughter, Gloria Wentworth of Jasper; sister, Betty Harlan of Jasper; grandchildren, Steven Marsh, Bryan Popham, Kelly Wentworth, Kerry Wentworth, and Dr. Christy Wentworth; great-grandchildren, Abby Levenwolf and Xander Popham.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Jasper City Cemetery. Rev. Greg Pope officiating.

The family accepted flowers or donate to First Baptist Church of Jasper.

James Karvunis 

January 24, 1940 - November 26, 2017


James George Karvunis, 77, passed peacefully at his home in Big Canoe, Georgia, on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 5:15 a.m. Private memorials will be held in Big Canoe, his birthplace of Indiana and his Greek Homeland at a later date. May God grant him eternal rest for his soul.

Mr. Karvunis is survived by his wife, Terressa Karvunis; sons, Greg George Karvunis, Steven George Karvunis, Alex George Karvunis and Aaron Wilner; daughter, Georgeanne Karvunis; sister, Sophia George Karvunis and Kathrine George Karvunis.

Mr. Karvunis was widowed in 2005 and preceded in death by his wife Beverly. Parents, George & Constantina Karvunis and brother, John George Karvunis.

Billy Vernon Jr. 

January 2, 1970 - November 27, 2017


Mr. Billy Joe (Pete) Vernon Jr., 47, of Talking Rock, Ga passed away Monday November 27, 2017 at Piedmont Moutainside Hospital-Jasper.

Mr. Vernon is survived by his mother, Heddie Mae Vernon of Talking Rock; fiancee, Angie Waller of Talking Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Billy Joe & Macy Vernon of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Amber & Bob Cornett of Jasper; daughters, Lisa Vernon of Jasper and Ashley Vernon of Canton; brothers, Freddie Eugene Garrett, William Clinton Garrett and Robert Lee Vernon, all of Cobb County; sister, Mildred Denise Garrett of Cobb County; three grandchildren and four nieces.

Pete is proceeded in death by his father, Billy Joe Vernon, Sr.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 4, 2017 at 3 p.m. in the Cagle Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Pruitt and Bobby Joe Morris officiating.

Internment followed at the Sweetwater Cemetery in Cherokee County.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Cagle Funeral Home to help cover funeral expenses.

William Reynolds

September 25, 1934 – November 26, 2017


William Eugene Reynolds, 83, of Jasper, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at his home.  He was born September 25, 1934 to Edward Lawrence Reynolds and Vera Ophelia James Reynolds in Pickens County.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a member of Blaine Masonic Lodge #534.

Gene is survived by his wife, Betty Reynolds of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Kevin McTaggart; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Sandy Reynolds; grandchildren, Wesley and Tiffany Reynolds, Katie and Nate Hillhouse, Elaina and Royce Latty, Valarie and Johnny Reece, Rhonda and Lance Yoder; great-grandchildren, Mackena Hillhouse, Clay Hillhouse, Aubree Hillhouse, Bryce Reynolds, Bailey Reynolds, Shelby Reece, Collin Reece, Madison Yoder, Olivia Yoder, and Noah Yoder.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Junior McTaggart officiating.  Interment followed at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Masonic Service by Blaine Masonic Lodge #534.

Todd Morrow

November 21, 1967 – December 4, 2017


Todd Morrow, 50, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at his home. Todd was an employee of Cobb EMC in Marietta, Georgia.

He is survived by his mother and dad, Gail and Lamar Tilley of Guntersville, Alabama; brothers, Jason Tilley of Albertville, Alabama, Grant Tilley of Albertville, Alabama, Mark Morrow of Luverne, Alabama, TJ Morrow of Luverne, Alabama; father, Beedie Morrow of Luverne, Alabama; special aunt and uncle, Connie and John H. Morrow of Cumming, Georgia; and special friend, Tracey Reppert.

A visitation will be held at Adams Brown Funeral Home in Albertville, Alabama from 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 7 at the Adams Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Albertville, Alabama.  Interment will follow at Brashers Chapel Cemetery in Albertville, Alabama.
