Mr. Clarence Jones, 89, of Talking Rock, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at his home. He was born December 5, 1927 to Clarence and Mae Jones in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mr. Jones is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Jackie Grant of Jasper; granddaughter, Niki Eubanks; great-grandchildren, Darla (Jason) Satterfield, Cody (Emily) Grant, and Kayla Eubanks; great-great-grandchildren, Grant and Peyton Satterfield and Addy and Cole Grant; sister, Francis Stanfield of Canton; brother, Billy and Virginia Jones. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Jones; parents, Clarence and Mae Jones; brother, Hobert Jones; and grandson, Tony Grant.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Autry Dean and Little Bill Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Cody Grant, Jason Satterfield, Cory Eubanks, Joey Jones, Dorsey Jones, and John Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Grant Satterfield and Cody Jones.

Our beloved Richard “Rick” Wayne Privette, 63, of Jerusalem Community, Jasper, Ga. passed away May 18th, 2017.
Born November 11, 1953, to Elizabeth Ann Netter, and after her passing, was raised by his beloved grandparents, Cecil and Valeska Netter along with his brother Mark Privette [Brenda] and his sister Laura “Lo” Privette Luttrell. Along with his siblings, he is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn Smith-Stump, daughter Richelle Lynn, 3 stepsons Daniel Lee [Erin], Joel Michael [Cynthia] and Douglas Anthony Stump. 5 grandchildren: Daniel Lee III and Clara Stump; Mary and Noah Stump; and Faith Stump. He was preceded in passing by his beloved granddaughter Carolina Jane Stump. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends that he loved very much.
Rick will always be remembered for his willingness to help others in need, for his sarcastic wit, his ability to laugh at life, and always his smile… and his enduring, long lasting love affair with his beloved Detroit Tigers. We will miss you, Rick. Rest in God’s hands.
Mrs. Christine Johnson Scheller, 67, of Talking Rock, GA passed away Tuesday May 16, 2017 following an extended illness.
Funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Our Lady of La Salette Catholic Church. Father Victor Reyes will officiate. Interment will follow the mass at Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Scheller was born May 11, 1950 in St. Paul Minnesota to the late Leo Younkin Johnson and Victoria Maria Brastad.
Christine is survived by her husband, Mark Scheller of Talking Rock, Georgia; sons, Jonathan Scheller of Nashville and David Scheller of Ball Ground, Georgia; daughters, Carrie Stahl of Marietta, Georgia, Rebecca Wheeler of Nelson, British Columbia, Monica Scheller of Americus, GA, Grace Scheller of Woodstock, GA; brother, David Johnson of West St. Paul Minnesota; sisters, Judy Seivert of St. Paul Minnesota and Vickie Voss of White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
Christine devoted her whole life to loving life in all its forms and especially that of being a mom. Moms are God's gift to the human race and they often struggle. In lieu of flowers, Christine's family asks that on a personal level you find a way to help a mom that is in need be that for just a moment or on a more structured basis. If that opportunity doesn't arise donate your time and yes some assets to a group that has a focus in this area.

Tisha DeLayne Skeen Trainer, 51, beloved daughter of Sue Skeen and the late J. Gary Skeen, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 in her home with several serious health issues.
She was a resident of Brook Hills Apartments in Ellijay, GA and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Tisha leaves six children including, Kaylee Buzek and husband Chris; James Buddy Smith and wife Catie; Michael Dillon Smith and wife Allie. She also leaves five grandchildren, Brantley Joseph, Scotlynn Ariella, Deacon James; Rylan Michael, and Jedediah. Tisha also leaves siblings, Tony Skeen his wife Denise, Patrick Skeen and wife Jennifer, Wendi Boling and husband Jack.
In lieu of flowers the family requests friends please make donations to Mt. Zion Baptist Church Ghana Mission Trip.
Receiving of friends will be held Wednesday May 31, 2017 from 5 until 8 p.m.

Mr. Grady Compton, 81, of Jasper, passed away Monday May 15, 2017 at his residence in Florida.
Mr. Compton is survived by his wife, Peggy Compton of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Marti & Brad Coe of Ponte Verda Beach, FL; sisters, Jimmie Nell Thompson of Jasper and Mary Dell Morgan of Ada, Oklahoma; and one grandchild, Cooper Coe; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service with Air Force military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 from the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Revs. Dan Henderson, John Henderson, and Joey Henderson officiating. Visitation will be held after the service from 3 until 5 p.m.

Carl Palmer, 81, of Jasper, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Palmer was born July 6, 1936 to the late Dainie and Eustis Palmer in Manchester, Georgia.
Mr. Palmer is survived by his wife, Janet Palmer of Jasper; children, Douglas Lee Palmer of Lilburn, John Forrest Palmer of Tucker, Joel Barry Palmer of Hoschton; grandchildren, Douglas Lee Palmer Jr., Allison Allen, Matthew Palmer, Sarah Moore, Anna Palmer, Jackson McKibbin, Alyssa Coble, Andrew Coble; great-grandchildren, Cristopher Levi Palmer, Peyton Douglas Allen, Jay Coble; sister, Dianna Revels.
